Yes, everything is shutting down. Schools, universities, offices, some shops, public transit & more. It's the right thing to do in a time like this, our only solution to a big problem.
For a lot of people that is a bad thing to happen. It sets off panic.
But for me, shutting down is exactly what we need. Of course, I'm not happy that there's a pandemic out there and that people are dying. Oh, and some are losing their jobs. That all sucks.
For the past 20 years the world was on gear six. We were going fast into the future, often recklessly destroying something pristine, like nature or mental health. Stocks were going up and up, global GDP too. There was always more of anything.
This strategy would never work in the long term. Eventually, something would break and we wouldn't be able to continue growing. It'd probably be the planet, in my opinion.
Now, we have to slow down. Unless we want to loose millions, that is.
Let's all enjoy the moment, ok? Enjoy the stillness, the peace.
